He’s Back!

First game back since the All Star break and I think we can all breathe a sigh of relief. The horrorshow of the Knicks vs. Heat game looks to be a one time, temporary blip (fingers crossed). Linsanity is back in full effect!!!

Knicks won 120 to 103 vs. the Cavs with Lin having a “doubo, doubo” shooting 6 for 12, scoring 19 points with 13 assists. He distributed the ball well providing Melo (22 points) and Amare (12 points) with a good number of shots. The stat that stood out for me was the 1 TURNOVER he had! Excellent and a definite improvement! Our boy did suffer a hard hit to the nose, and bloodied up his face in the first half.  Don’t worry ladies and fun boys, he looked fine in the second half.

Since Lin joined the rotation, the Knicks have 10 wins in the last 13 games and are back to 500.

On a side note, at one point during the game tonight, fans at MSG were chanting “We want Novak”.   Here’s a quote from the Times (prior to tonight’s game) that provides a good summary of how Linsanity has also helped Novak bring his game to new heights and created another hero for Knicks fans. Novak had 17 points tonight.

“Still, no player has probably benefited more from Lin’s arrival than Novak, who was claimed off waivers by the Knicks on Dec. 21. Averaging 4.2 points per game in his six-year career, the 6-foot-10 Novak has seen his production soar lately; in the nine games since Lin took over as the starting point guard he is averaging 11.8 points.”
