The Force Awakens

I recently wrote about our friends A&A coming over for dinner the other night. They are probably the biggest Star Wars fans I know. I can handle my own, but they’re next level – they really know their shit. They brought over a few gifts for the kids to thank us for hosting. Knowing my son was into Star Wars (thanks to me), they brought him one of the newest toys, the tripple blade lightsaber of new villain Kylo Ren from the coming “Force Awakens” movie. We’ve been following the release previews and sneak peeks so my son new what this was immediately. This was a Toysrus exclusive “Ultimate FX Lightsaber”. Compared to the solid red rod attached to a hunk of black plastic I had when I was a kid, this thing is amazing. When you turn it on, it gradually lights up from bottom to top with a gradual shut down from top to bottom when it turns off. It has really great sound effects when it turns on and it maintains a pretty authentic humming sound. When its moves or strikes another blade, it also has contact type sound effects and the lights flicker. There are 3digit versions of these where the handles are made of heavier materials but these are slightly cheaper at $50-$60 and are perfect for kids and regular use. Its really an impressive toy. A few years before, I purchased a Darth Vader and Qui-Gon Jinn for my kids at a discount shop so this was a perfect addition. Thank you A&A!
