Its been a while but I’m back…lots of Kaws
Took a small break but recently found some time (and inspiration) to post a few things and try to keep this site a little more current. Here’s a few recent updates – mostly Kaws related.
Recent Sneaker Pick Ups
I’ve stayed away from sneaker buying for quite a while now. That changed this month. My staple sneaker for the past ten years or so has been the Nike Air Max 1. The Air Max 1, designed by Tinker Hatfield, was introduced in 1986 and was the first shoe to
Got em all!
After less than two weeks, I was able to get the full set of McDonald’s Peanuts figures (x2!). I have to thank my folks who sourced their friends and drove around the place looking for me. My mom called all her friends and they all came through. It seemed
The Force Awakens
I recently wrote about our friends A&A coming over for dinner the other night. They are probably the biggest Star Wars fans I know. I can handle my own, but they’re next level – they really know their shit. They brought over a few gifts for the kids to thank us for hosting. Knowing my son was into Star Wars (thanks to me), they brought him one of the newest toys, the tripple blade lightsaber of new villain Kylo Ren from the coming “Force Awakens” movie. We’ve been following the release previews and sneak peeks so my son new what…
Go Get It!
Our good friends A&A came by for diner with their daughter last night. On their way out, they mentioned having to make a stop at McDonald’s to find the remaining Charlie Brown figures they needed from McDonalds’ recent “The Peanuts Movie” promotion. I inquired a bit more and thought the figures were pretty interesting. Here’s what they look like: There’s 12 in total and I think they’re around $2each. Inspired by A&A, on my way home from swimming this morning, we stopped by McDonald’s to see what they had. They had Number 7, 8 and 9 so I picked up…
OG & Nike just doing it!
I played basketball all through grade school and high school and continued to play pick up since. It was through basketball that I first got into sneakers. The first pair I recall having was a pair of simple white Adidas. They were nothing fancy, just whites from a sale bin. My dad then splurged on a pair of sale Pumps for me which looked absolutely ridiculous but I loved. Shawn Kemp eventually became my favourite player and I had a few pairs of the black and white pumps (I think they were the Kamikazi’s). I then got onto the swoosh with…
Lego Master
Haven’t posted for a long long while. Things have been pretty hectic on the home front but are finally back to normal. I should have more regular updates going forward. Here’s a quick post. I’ve always been a huge fan of Lego. Ever since I was probably five years old, I always had a bucket of Lego in front of me. Saturday mornings, while my folks were sleeping, I would get up, grab my lego and play for hours. I was never a fan of the standard sets and would rather use the pieces to build my own creations (airplanes,…
Cactus?
During this past summer, my parents underwent a much needed, massive cleanup of their house. As part of the process, they temporarily moved some stuff to the backyard to make room. Gradually as they progressed, they moved things back in the house. Inadvertently, things were left out longer than they should and some were forgotten over the summer. I was in the backyard a few weekends ago and this cactus was something that never made it back in. Either it was tipped over or it was in a shaded area and had morphed to catch some light. Regardless, this is…
