Artist: Yoshitomo Nara
Series: Little Wanderer
Date Purchased: Sometime 2014
Price purchased: $50 (really $0)

Story:  I first came across Yoshitomo Nara’s work back in 2005 while watching a reality show of hip-hop mogul, Lyor Cohen (see below).  I was immediately drawn to the paintings of children which had an adult like darkness to them.  Nara’s original works easily go into the seven digit realm and there’s not many legit prints out there, so when I came across the Wanderer figure and having already been a figure collector, this seemed like a good buy for $150.  Although $150 seemed like a good buy, by the time 2014 hit, I was at the tale end of my figure collecting days. I was a bit cheap and tried to find a bargain.  I found used one on ebay for $50 (with packaging) which was awesome and since I planned on displaying it anyways, I purchased it. Ever hear the saying “if its too good to be true, it usually is”. Well, this was one of those times.  When it came, the figure was excellent, but the packaging was so poor, it was obvious this was a fake.  Shit had pink and blue and green versions on it and called it sleepy baby or some shit.  The ebay seller  claimed to not know and actually refunded me so I ended up only paying for shipping.  It’s still a beautiful figure for my collection and I don’t think you can tell.  For my kids, this one is FAKE.
